Marketing professor Gad Saad says evolution has hard-wired humans to be naturally drawn toward a specific set of universal narratives within cultural products.

I’m curious how artists would react to this. It seems the author uses ‘greedy reductionism’ (D. Dennett) while interpreting evolutionary science. Dostojevski, Mozart, Shakespeare, Hemingway, Kandinsky, Pollock,…: the secret of their genius lies hidden in the algorithm of natural selection. That said: the article itself (paywall, sorry!) does raise some interesting questions!
