Super Bowl Ads: Has Our App-Happy Culture Boxed Out The Profound?

A cultural comment, based on ads. Remarkable: when you go to the sites, you have to sit through… an ad 🙂 Thing is, the author claims, based on the ads aired during the Super Bowl, that western culture has lost its sense for profoundness. While I tend to agree to a certain extent, I’m a bit doubtful whether ads really are such a good cultural barometer. Are ads in that sense fulfilling the same role as art used to do?
